Blade wire or triangle wire: which sisal board suits you?
The metal wiring across a dartboard (the spider) determines how many darts bounce out and how much room is left to score. This is the difference between triangle wire and blade wire, in plain language.
What the spider does
Every dart that lands on the wiring can bounce off: a bounce-out. That costs points and your darts fall to the floor. The thinner and sharper the wiring, the smaller that chance and the more sisal stays visible to score in.
Triangle wire: the reliable all-rounder
Triangle wire has a triangular profile that guides darts into the segment instead of bouncing them away. It is the sweet spot between price and performance: excellent for recreation and dedicated home use. Our Performance Pro board has triangle wire.
Blade wire: maximum scoring surface
Blade wire is thin rolled steel that stands upright in the board, without staples. The result: even fewer bounce-outs, more visible sisal and a tighter playing picture. Our Performance Ultra board combines blade wire with densely pressed Brazilian sisal that recovers faster and stays tight longer.

What exactly is a bounce-out?
A dart that lands on the wiring or a staple and bounces back. The throw does not count and your dart falls to the floor, which is bad for the point. Thinner wiring greatly reduces that chance.
Is blade wire more fragile than triangle wire?
No. Blade wire is hardened steel anchored in the board without staples, so nothing can come loose or rust.
Do both boards fit the same bracket and surround?
Yes. Both boards have the standard match size of 45.1 cm, so mounting bracket, surround ring and lighting always fit.
